Get The Golf Clubs You Need To Help Your Game. What To Look For And Where To Get Them
Selecting
the Proper Irons
The
golf clubs or irons are traditionally known as the unrecognized heroes in
a golfer's bag. They're the scoring clubs and the most used clubs in the
golf arsenal. They come in sets of up to 13 clubs with all different loft angles
for different distances and shots. There are two main types of of golf clubs
that are available to the players today, with a third type starting to also
be introduced more and more... One important thing to remember no matter what style you choose is that all three different types should be custom fitted to your golf swing for optimum results.

Choosing Your Set Of Golf Irons
Forged
Irons
Also
known as 'Blades'. Bladed or forged clubs are often made of softer steel with
an exterior chrome plating. Advanced and more experienced players prefer these
type of clubs for greater spin and control of the ball. The sweet spot on
these clubs is often smaller, so a player with a well-groomed swing will find
it easier to work the ball the way he or she wants to reap their proper rewards.
Cast
Irons
These
clubs are also known as 'Cavity Backs' and are more geared toward the beginners
or mid to higher handicappers. They can be identified by their cavity back
on the opposite side of the club face. Such golf clubs are usually cast from
a mold of harder metals then bladed clubs. They are evenly matched for balance
and weight through the entire set. The clubs mass is distributed around the
edges of the club head allowing for a larger sweet spot and a more forgiving
club on off-centred hits.
Hybrids
These
sets are a mixture of cavity backs and bladed clubs. Together these sets consist
of full-cavity backed long irons, half or partial cavity backed mid irons,
and classic blade style short irons and wedges. These offer golfers new choice
to help improve their games.
Selecting
the Proper Shafts
When
it comes to selecting shafts for your golf clubs there are two main things
to keep in mind, the type of shaft and the flexability....
Steel
vs Graphite
Steel
shafts are usually used by better players for a few reasons. Steel shafts
tend to be heavier than graphite ones and this can affect the speed the player
swings the golf club. The better players are usually able to produce enough
swing speed to not have to worry about the weight of the club. The steel shafts
will also produce more feedback to the golfers hands when the ball is struck
at impact allowing them to "feel" how the shot was hit and to help
them make any corrections should there be a need.
Graphite shafts are usually lighter than steel shafts and allow slower swinging
players to increase their swing speed. This is a big advantage to kids, beginners,
ladies and more senior players, helping them to hit the ball further. Graphite
also is more forgiving with vibrations going to the players hands when a poor
shot is struck. You don't feel as much of a sting from a slightly mishit shot.
